EYHO 2019 – Meet The Chefs

March 29, 2019

Chef Kimberly Fonville grew up in West Mount Airy and is delighted to be involved with her local community while doing what she loves:  creating delicious meals with an international focus. This will be Kimberly’s fourth year as an Eat Your Heart Out volunteer chef. Kimberly has turned her love of cooking into a flourishing personal chef business.  Food has been more than just nourishment.

Her recipes for romance can be found in her self-published editions of “Tryst: A Woman’s Guide to Entertaining for Love.”  Kimberly has become known in the world of film and television production as someone who can provide long-term catering services during production.  That work often takes her out of the area, sometimes for extended periods of time  Thus, as an EYHO chef, she will enjoy working at a home several minutes from the house in which she grew up and having the chance to feed her neighbors a wonderful meal with incredible flavor.

Gail Hinson is a chef and culinary educator. She has an Associates degree in Applied Science with an emphasis on biology and nutrition. Gail currently works as a corporate chef for Wakefern Food Corporation where she instructs culinary workshops for adults and kids. She is also involved with an after school “Grow and Eat” program where kids learn about growing foods, cooking foods, where our food comes from and the nutritional value of fresh foods.

Gail has worked for and now volunteers with an Urban Agricultural Youth Development Program, in which teens grow, harvest, cook and eat fresh foods. The teens also learn about nutritional value associated with locally grown freshly harvested foods, are taught kitchen etiquette, knife skills and job and entrepreneurship skills. In addition, Gail cooks and hosts themed Pop Up Dinner events at Awbury Arboretum featuring locally sourced foods and sumptuous cuisine
