We prefer you buy your ticket in advance\, but you’re welcome to pay at the door as well. Please find a cost that works for you. If you can afford to pay at the higher end of the scale\, please do! Remember\, all proceeds will pay performers and be donated to GALAEI. \nWHO’S WELCOME?\nThis is a dyke+ space\, meaning all who identify as dykes\, over 18 years old\, are welcome. SUMMARY:Winter Seed Propagation Course with the Mt Airy EcoLab
DESCRIPTION:Join a class and learn the basic of winter seed propagation with the Mt. Airy Ecolab! This workshop will contain a short presentation\, some seed sharing (optional: bring local\, native seeds if you have them!)\, and step-by-step instructions for methods to grow your own seeds in winter. We will cover 3 methods for propagation that you can easily use in your own backyard to grow native meadow flowers\, under-represented woody edibles\, or strategic biodiversity-enhancing plants to support an increase in biodiversity across Mt. Airy and Greater Philadelphia. One specific goal of this course – for any who wants to join in the effort – will be to grow out pollinator plants for the Ecolab’s pollinator garden. \nSuggested donation: $15 \nRSVP Here

SUMMARY:EcoLab Biodiversity Survey
DESCRIPTION:Calling all naturalists\, citizen scientists\, and neighbors of all ages! We are looking for volunteers to help us get a biodiversity baseline for the Ecolab space at the SEPTA Carpenter Train Station. We’ll be using the free app iNaturalist.org to take pictures and identify as many species as we can. Knowing what species are present gives us insights into the ecological health of the landscape and ideas on how we might strategically increase biodiversity and resilience over time. \nPlease bring a phone with the iNaturalist app installed\, water\, gloves\, hat\, bugs pray. Sorry\, there are no bathrooms on site. \n

SUMMARY:Summer Socials at the EcoLab
DESCRIPTION:Every Friday Night in July from 6pm to 8pm\, weather permitting\nPlease join us on Friday nights in July from 6-8 pm at the back of the Carpenter Lane Station at our burgeoning EcoLab. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with neighbors while exploring progress at the site! Cold treats! \nOne of our most urgent projects is the creation of a shed which will store tools\, equipment\, and supplies for not only the EcoLab\, but also Mt Airy Tree Tenders and Mt Airy Trash Team.  We have already had supplies stolen\, and so to continue our progress we need this shed ASAP.  The cost of shed completion is $2000\, can you help us make it happen? \nIf you’d like to get involved with the EcoLab or just have questions\, please email mtairyecolab@gmail.com.   We look forward to seeing you in the garden! \nEcoLab Summer Social
